Teaching

I teach courses on labor sociology, American politics, social theory, globalization, social movement organizing, and sexuality. An important goal of my teaching is to provide students with the resources and the environment to examine their society from a variety of critical perspectives, and to move from thoughtful critique to action. As a mentor, I have supported students as they start businesses, make films, and lead political campaigns. Before coming to Middlebury I taught throughout the City University of New York and San Quentin State Prison.
